BabyHawk Oh Snap CamoBabyHawk, maker of totally awesome meh dai baby carriers, announced the addition of a new carrier to their line, the BabyHawk Oh Snap!

I was privileged to be able to test an earlier version of the Oh Snap, a prototype from the design process. Let me first say that I love BabyHawks. I’m a meh dai girl, I know them in and out, I know a dozen different ways to tie them. Buckle carriers have a lot of similarities to meh dais, but what most don’t have is flexibility, not just the ability to adjust for different users, but real, true flexibility for different carries, different weight distribution, etc. Until now.

The Oh Snap is a meh dai improved. And not just any meh dai, the cream of the crop BabyHawk. The first thing you might notice about the Oh Snap is that it looks like a BabyHawk. The flip-up headrest is still there, the bold fabric combinations, the comfortably padded straps.

The number one complaint about meh dais is all that tying. With the Oh Snap it’s just buckle and go! No straps dragging, no fiddling with knots. The straps connect at the sides with a buckle, and extra webbing length means that you can easily cross the straps behind you for front wearing, or keep them buckled right in to the same side for backpack style shoulders when baby is on your back.

BabyHawk Oh Snap Chest StrapWhen you are doing a back carry and have the straps like a backpack, the chest strap (or sternum strap) can be used to keep the straps well-positioned on your shoulders. You will notice that the chest strap on the Oh Snap is unlike any other on the market. It is dual-adjusting, with two connectors on each shoulder strap. This gives a more customized fit. No twisting buckles, no pulling on the straps so they flip and look bunchy. The Oh Snap chest strap will move up and down on the shoulder straps and adjust so that it lays flat against you and does exactly what it should: keep the shoulder straps on your shoulders.

BabyHawk Oh Snap Back CarryA few notes about the design of the Oh Snap. The size is similar to that of a BabyHawk. Seat darts have been added for a more form-fitting result. The straps will adjust to fit anyone up to a size 22 with no additional pieces necessary. And yes, they will adjust down to fit even a size zero. There’s nothing more annoying than doing a back carry and not being able to tighten in a carrier enough to hold your baby close, and the Oh Snap has taken that into account, making it ideal for small moms who may not have had success with other structured carriers. The Oh Snap is recommended for children 6 months and up. There is no infant insert currently available (although there is one in the works!), but until then, make sure your baby is able to sit on their own and can straddle the seat of the Oh Snap before you use it. Maximum weight is 45 pounds. That’s a lot, folks!

And now I would like to share my favorite part of the Oh Snap. I need to share a little bit of personal information in order to do this. I’m a small mama. Not tiny, tiny, but small. Being small, I’m lacking in one major area, my derriere. I don’t have much of one. Not much hips, either. This makes wearing carriers with waist support belts a little difficult. Most people will wear padded waist straps down around their hips, effectively transferring much their baby’s weight off their back and to their hips. This is a lot more comfortable when baby reaches 25 plus pounds.

Not everyone has the same shape around the hips, though. And those like me, who don’t have much of anything back there to hold a waist belt in place might find that the waist belt doesn’t stay in place, instead it slips down. Others might find that it creates pressure on the sides or becomes problematic with certain clothing. Well the Oh Snap takes this into account! Instead of just having a plain waist belt, or trying to decide between curved or straight, the Oh Snap is the first ever structured carrier with a customizable waist belt!

BabyHawk Oh Snap Waist BeltWith two adjustments on each side of the waist belt, the Oh Snap can be adjusted to perfectly fit hips in all shapes and sizes. The adjustments allow the top of the waist strap to be adjusted separately from the bottom of the waist belt, so you can truly get the belt to sit on your hips, therefore your baby’s weight will be on your hips. Instant comfort!

The BabyHawk Oh Snap carriers are currently available for sale at PAXbaby.  Retail price is $140 and PAXbaby will has a wide selection available for instant shipping.  If you don’t see exactly what you want, let us know or visit the Design Center to pre-order your ideal Oh Snap!

By the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea.
You and I, you and I, oh, how happy we’ll be.
When each wave comes a-rollin’ in, we duck or swim.
And we’ll float and fool around the water.
Over and under and then up for air.
Pa is rich, Ma is rich, so, now what do we care.

As a babywearing advocate and know it all, I get asked frequently “which carrier should I get?” and it is the best feeling in the world to hear positive feedback from the parents I’ve helped!  Sarah emailed me looking for a carrier for her husband to wear!  She ordered the All Camo Oh Snap! which arrived on her doorstep the Saturday of Father’s Day weekend!  Perfect timing!!!

“My husband, J., loves this carrier so much! All he could say when he first tried it on was how comfortable it is. I have gone back to work part-time, and I work nights most of the time that I work, so it is just Baby Boy and J. Baby Boy does not like to be put down, and J. had been complaining that his back hurts from holding him all the time. The second he tried on the Oh Snap! he loved it! He said he is never wearing any other carrier ever again–he can wear it for hours without any problem and he can get Baby Boy to fall asleep in it.  Whenever we go out,  he is sad that he forgot his carrier, all he can say is “I wish we had brought my carrier,” over and over. I think it is going to live in the car so we don’t forget it anymore.

He can’t wait to show it off to everyone and have our family and friends try it out! I am so glad that he likes it so much–I was a bit worried because he was kind of indifferent to the idea of getting his own carrier–he had a nasty crotch dangler that we got for a shower gift that he used once or twice and said it would work just fine. Well, he can’t get rid of it fast enough after using the Oh Snap!  He is so cute. Thank you sooooo much for all of your help, and for shipping it so fast! It is the best gift I could have gotten for my husband and son!!!!!”

Destroy a Bag Sling contest!!!!

Last month, we challenged our BabyHawk fans to find and destroy a bag sling, or 2 or 3!  These “slings of death” were the cause of at least 2 babies’ deaths and the source of the media hysteria against babywearing. Thanks to bag slings like the recalled Infantino Slingrider and the Wendy Bellissimo sling, us babywearers are being chased around markets by little old women claiming that we are trying to kill our babies and being reprimanded in parking lots by well-meaning fathers pushing their children in strollers. We know what a dangerous sling looks like, and your favorite BabyHawk baby carrier  is NOT a dangerous sling – manufactured in China & produced by a large company that knows less about babywearing than the little old lady in the market!

Choosing the winner of our Destroy-a-Bag-Sling contest was too hard for us to decide on our own, so we have our top choices, our leading contestants, our most outrageous sling destructions, and we want YOU to decide which Destroy-a-Bag-Sling Mission deserves a FREE custom BabyHawk Oh Snap! The 2 runners up will each receive a $25 BabyHawk gift certificate.

To view the contestants, go to the BabyHawk Facebook page.  View each of the contestant’s entry. Ponder, think, and decide which fulfilled the criteria the best! Did the entry show safe babywearing? Did the entry have pizazz and spirit? Did the entry do our babywearing community justice?  Did the entry make a statement worthy of a free BabyHawk Oh Snap!???
Choose between Babywearers Unite for Safe Slings contestants #1, #2 or #3.

Leave your 1 vote as a “Like” at the PAXbaby’s Facebook page before Thursday June 17 at midnight PST.

Invite all your friends to vote and become a PAXbaby fan because the more votes we  get, the more prizes will be awarded to our voters!!!!  1 lucky voter will be selected randomly for a fabulous babywearing prize! 2 voters will be selected after 50 votes, 4 prizes will be given out of we can get 100 votes, etc..!!!

And what better cause than to support our babywearers, destroy the myth that ALL slings are equal, and take out those bag slings out of commission!!!! Just 1 vote per babywearer please! Spread the word! Get voting! Round up those babywearers who would LOVE to have a chance to win a babywearing accessory so unique and cool everyone is going to need one! And help 1 lucky mama take home a brand new custom fantabulous BabyHawk Oh Snap!

Baby BjornI am not trying to dwell, babywearers, but I’d like to explain again why the Bjorn and similar carriers are just NOT the best choice!  I know that the Bjorn is America’s most popular baby carrier, but that is truly thanks to the company’s massive advertising budget!  The fact that practically every baby registry in every big box store (aka Target, Babies R Us, etc…) includes a Bjorn, Infantino, or Jeep baby carrier is a step in the right babywearing direction!  But it is also negative progress since most Bjorn-wearing parents will give up babywearing after their baby hits double digits in weight.  And why is that, friends?  Because the “crotch dangling” baby carriers like the Snugli and the Infantino hold baby in a terribly awkward and uncomfortable position.  The  baby’s weight puts pressure directly onto a pivotal part of the body – the crotch!  And whether a baby girl or a baby boy is being worn, this cannot be comfortable or ergonomic!  Not only that, but I am convinced that the manufacturers of these crotch dangling baby carriers have actually never worn one of their own baby carriers!  If the manufacturers behind the Bjorn had ever tried actually used their own Bjorn, I think that we would see a huge re-design in their line of carriers!  The brains behind Baby Bjorn , Jeep, & Chicco  would then experience for themselves the ill-fitting shoulder straps and the lack of back & shoulder support needed in a truly GREAT baby carrier!

My guess is that someone has pointed out to these business owners the ergonomic value of baby carriers like the BabyHawk or the Beco leading to the release of the Infantino’s own Mai Tei product, the Wrap ‘n Tie, and Bjorn’s “invention” of a Beco Gemini – esque carrier complete with a waistband, padded straps, & the quintessential Baby Bjorn front facing out capability.  Here is what Bjorn has to say about their new Comfort Carrier:

BABYBJÖRN Comfort Carrier is an ergonomic baby carrier that provides the best possible support when carrying a bigger and older child for extended periods of time. The waist belt and the padded, adjustable shoulder straps distribute baby’s weight evenly onto your hips and shoulders. For extra comfort, the child can be carried using different leg positions and, as with all BABYBJÖRN Baby Carriers, you can carry your child facing inwards or outwards. BABYBJÖRN Comfort Carrier’s well-conceived design allows you to carry your child safely and close to you, and at the same time it’s hands-free.

Now, as a mom well versed in babywearing and the lingo of the babywearing world, I can see several key words that Bjorn is using to reel in babywearers previously critical of any carrier with the Bjorn label on it! ERGONOMIC, PADDED SHOULDER STRAPS, DISTRIBUTE BABY’S WEIGHT, HANDS-FREE.  Baby Bjorn has obviously been doing their babywearing homework, and they have discovered what features are most important to us.  However, this large manufacturer has made 1 very large error!  They have priced this new ergonomic Bjorn at around $200 retail, and that is a BIG mistake!  $200 could be spent on a gorgeous wrap conversion, a custom Mai Tei, or a legacy half buckle SSC that will go down in babywearing history!  But $200 spent on a China-made, Beco/ Ergo wanna-be with a Baby Bjorn label and a BRUS store receipt?  I don’t think so, Baby Bjorn!

How can you fight back?

By promoting baby carriers that we know, trust, and deserve to carry your baby!

Wear your WAHM made baby carrier with pride!

Pass out business cards to your favorite mom-owned baby carrier shop!

Urge your mommy friends to register for a GREAT baby carrier instead of a mediocre one!

Let a new parent borrow your own baby carrier and give a quick tutorial so that they can have a GREAT experience with it!

Smile at Baby Bjorn wearing parents, and slyly say “Did you know there is a carrier even MORE comfortable than that one!?!”

And most importantly wear your baby with confidence: let the whole world know that you are a BABYWEARER!

*happy babywearing*

Thanks, Kyndal, for your gushy love note about your BabyHawk!  We LOVE that you LOVE your Oh Snap! as much as we do!!!

I’ve been a babywearing mama since day one. Well, more like day three. I had a c-section, so we weren’t out and about too soon. Recently I sweet-talked my husband into ordering me a BabyHawk Oh Snap! because I had heard that it was more comfortable than a one-shoulder carrier. We were loving it and using it everyday to go to the grocery store, the mall, etc. But the real test of our Oh Snap! came on the day before Easter at a friend’s wedding. I was a bridesmaid and my husband would have to wear her during the ceremony and during the pictures afterwards. I was so nervous. I’ve never been away from my daughter. Lola is 8 months old and every bit of a “Mama’s girl.” Right before the ceremony started, my husband came and I strapped him into the BabyHawk and off he went with our sweet baby. I was a nervous-wreck. She cries when she’s away from me. What if she screams through the whole service? Will she think I abandoned her? I was the first bridesmaid down the aisle and I’m searching the audience for my husband and Lola. I find them and see that’s she’s sleeping peacefully. (I later found out she slept for an entire hour) My husband’s face is happy and calm. Things were clearly going well. At the very end of the service she woke up when her pacifier fell out, but was still happy. During pictures, she watched from inside the “hawk” as we call it, happy as can be. During the reception we took turns wearing her and the best part of the whole night was when I was able to share a dance with my two loves. She was so comfy in the BabyHawk that she slept right through it. My husband is ordering another BabyHawk for me and yesterday informed me that for Father’s Day he wants his own “hawk” that is “manly” and I’m not allowed to use it. I love that man!

And I don’t mean the Baby Bjorn, mamas! I’m talking about ergonomically comfortable baby carriers that enable you to be hands free while wearing your baby! These carriers usually are so wonderful, that you will become addicted to the world of babywearing, and your baby will forever thank you for your decision to look outside the BRU box and grab a:
Sakura Bloom ring sling – swanky but utterly comfortable ring sling available in linen, silk, or a combination of both!

Sakura-Bloom_baby_sling

Hotslings AP Pouch – the adjustable pouch that fits a large range of body sizes but is as easy as THAT to use!

hotsling-AP_quinn

Moby Wrap – extremely comfortable stretchy wrap ideal for newborns through 15-18 pounds. Once your baby grows that heavy, the stretchy fabric is too stretchy and you will need to upgrade to a carrier designed for heavier babies.

moby

Babyhawk meh dai – Asian inspired carrier with a body and 4 straps. Can be intimidating to start, but can be the most comfortable carrier in the bunch!

BB Slen – A woven wrap made under fair trade conditions that is “grippy” enough to be easy to use even for beginner wrappers!

BBSlen

Beco Butterfly II – My personal favorite Soft Structured Carrier, meaning that the straps buckle instead of wrap or tie. Great for moms, dads, toddlers, or newborns. The infant insert is included but removable and the integrated seat means that even new moms and inexperienced babywearers can get their baby on their back like a backpack easily and comfortably!

Other favorite brands are Gypsymama wraps, Oh Snap! SSCs, and Olives & Applesauce SSC!

Step out of your comfort zone, say NO to commercially manufactured brands like Bjorn and Evenflo, and get yourself a REAL baby carrier! You and baby deserve it!

Thank you so much to Laura from the SoCal Disneyland area for her in depth review of the new Babyhawk Soft Structured Carrier, the Oh Snap!, and the new 16″ Olives & Applesauce Full Buckle Soft Structured Carrier!  Keep in mind that the Olives & Applesauce does come with an attached infant insert, which you can fold to the back of the carrier when your baby is too tall for it.  The Babyhawk Oh Snap! also features a key clip on the waistband!

To make things easier, here are a couple of acronyms that we will use (repeatedly!) in this post:

BH = Babyhawk

OS = Oh Snap!

SSC = Soft Structured Carrier, meaning a meh dai style body with shorter straps that buckle instead of tie and a padded waistband

O&A = Olives & Applesauce

FB = Full Buckle

DH = Dear Husband

If you have any questions, please let us know!

We have the Oh Snap! SSCs in stock or available to order as customs, and the O & As are just getting finished up over at O & A headquarters, and we are taking pre-orders on them now!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My overall impression is that these are different enough carriers that you could definitely have one of each in your stash. Before I had the BHOS I was in love with my O&A’s and I still am. They are beautiful carriers and very comfy. I do however find the BHOS a bit more comfy for me. I love all the adjustments.  I can get a great fit, DH can get a great fit, and we can cinch it down super tiny for the smaller kids. If you’re passing it among very differently sized people, constant adjustment may be a PITB. Once you figure out the right adjustment for you though, it is easy to use.
Babyhawk Oh Snap! review against Olives & Applesauce Soft Structured Carrier
Babyhawk Oh Snap! SSC is on the left.  Olives & Applesauce 16 inch FB SSC is on the right.  The strap fabrics are different, but in some of these pictures, they look alike.
———————————————————————————————————————
The O&A on top of BHOS. You can see here how the body of the O&A is slightly curvy and contoured. The BHOS is pretty much straight up and down. They both have leg padding, but the O&A is fluffier.
Review between the Babyhawk Oh Snap! and the  O & A FB SSC
———————————————————————————————————————
The headrest of the OS can be folded down. It is tricky to fold it down in a back carry, and you probably would need a friend to do it for you. It does not have a seat insert. Our four month old is on the small side for what is recommended with any SSC (which is 4-6 months usually) but we used SSC’s with our older son from about 3 months on. We froggied his legs inside, then moved to one leg out and then finally to two legs out, you could also use a receiving blanket inside the bottom to get him seated a bit higher in the carrier if you want.
Up close picture of the waist padding. The O&A is more curved. The BHOS is also curved but because of the adjusters (mine are all the way out) you could make it more curved or less curved. OS has slightly wider webbing here.
Soft Structured Carrier review: Oh Snap! versus Olives & Applesauce
———————————————————————————————————————
The BHOS headrest is great because my son can see out the sides, and when he puts his arms out, there is no scrunching of the body.  The back of the headrest comes up high enough to support him during a nap. I still need to bounce him down and into the carrier once he falls asleep, but I like the way the BHOS feels…it is a very comfy carrier.
Both carriers have seat darts. The seat darts on the BHOS are just not as deep as the O&A, so they are hard to see, but they are there.  On the left is the BHOS, on the right is the O&A.  The O&A has a bit of a trough by the waist band, and the BHOS is less deep.
———————————————————————————————————————
A couple of things in this picture. You can see the differences in the width of the straps.  The BHOS are slightly curved. O&A are straight. O&A has wider webbing than the BHOS. The chest straps are very different. The O&A chest strap is free floating. The BHOS chest strap is fixed but removable. There is adjustable webbing on the BHOS that allows petite users to shorten the straps past the padding (mine are all the way out here).
Strap review: Oh Snap! and  Olives & Applesauce
———————————————————————————————————————
The BHOS waistband padding is 4 inches wide.  The body is 17 inches tall for a total height of 21 inches
The O&A waistband padding is 3 3/4. The body is 16 inches tall for a total of 19 3/4 inches. With the hood up it is 30 inches.
Shoulder padding. O&A on top.  O&A straps are wider with less padding. BHOS are narrower with more padding (though I think as the BHOS breaks in, it will get a little more floppy)
Oh Snap! and O & A SSC comparison
Really, I think everyone should give the OS a try. I went back and forth on them for a while thinking that I was happy with my O&A’s and I wasn’t going to rock the boat trying a bunch of new things, but I finally caved and I am really glad I did. It does feel different than the O&A which I still love, but for a back carry napper who hates hoods, the BHOS is really great. We have been using it for naps and I really am loving it. The 16 inch O&A is a great size and definitely works for a toddler!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I’m hooked. It’s true.

While I only have one kiddo (DD) at present (almost 14 months! *sob*), I spend my days watching a wonderful little boy (Mr. G) who’s five months younger than she. Living in a townhome without a yard or much space for a playroom means that we make a point of getting out of the house every day, even if it’s only for a walk or a trip to the grocery store (or a walk to the grocery store!)

I freely admit to being stroller-impaired. We have a small umbrella stroller, and I manage to pinch my fingers every time I try to fold it up. I still can’t manage to push a stroller through a door that I’m pushing open without getting one or more of us stuck in the process. And I’m constantly stepping on the back tire of the jogging stroller, causing me to do a faceplant into the handlebars. Because of this, I tend to shy away from using the stroller, even if it means wearing two.

So my carriers get a lot of work to begin with. Add that to the fact that any time we go anywhere between the hours of 7am and 4pm from Monday to Friday, I have to haul two small children plus diaper bag and whatever else we need down a flight of stairs, outside (insert fumbling with keys at this step), down another flight of stairs, and into the car. All of this is an operation that works better if one has at least one hand at their disposal; however, with two kiddos that can’t walk, those hands are usually occupied.

Enter my SSCs (Soft Structured Carriers.) My Ergo and Beco are indispensable parts of my BabyWearing stash. But, like someone that shares a car with multiple drivers, I’m constantly finding myself having to readjust my carriers; husband uses the Ergo and the shoulder straps are too long when I put it on, or I put daughter in the Beco while we’re out in the evening and get it all snug around her, only to have to readjust for the much shorter and chunkier Mr. G the next day.

Thus, my need for another carrier. My decision to purchase the Oh Snap! was cemented when I saw that I could get it in the Jasper print. After failing to convince DH that I needed the Alice Beco to replace my boring but easily-coordinated Metro Black BB1, I decided that Jasper must be mine. But the features looked great too–taller body, highly adjustable.

I got the notice of shipping on Tuesday 12/10, and was prepared to stalk the mailman obsessively starting on Friday. But we went out on Thursday morning and came back Thursday afternoon to a lovely surprise–a little Jasper sitting cozily on my doorstep, holding a conversation with the lawn gnome that guards my flowerpots. Squeeling commenced and I begged the kiddos to nap so that I could open it unmolested.

Alas, it wasn’t to be, and it got its first test about two minutes after opening. I hadn’t had time to do much more than get the waistbelt adjusted before both kiddos started fussing at each other (they were, after all, needing naps). So I popped one on my back in my new friend Jasper and went to snug up the shoulder straps.

That was my first pleasant surprise. Rather than adjusting where the webbing meets the padded strap, they adjust where the webbing meets the carrier body. Also, they adjust in a way that has you pulling upwards to tighten, rather than trying to exert force down and backwards in an unnatural way. Getting a nice snug fit there was quick!

The waist belt was comfy too, and seemed to do its job. I was satisfied, we got the mail, and when we came inside, I was able to get the nap thing going. This gave me time to play with the rest of the adjustments, and I was impressed at how many there are. The first time I took the chest belt off, I thought it was a pain to get on again, but then I figured out a trick to get it on more quickly (hold the clip loosely, and slide starting at one corner of the clip). The hip belt adjustments intrigued me, and I was interested in seeing if the shape adjustability would make a difference in the feel with a child. I played with it a bit, petted the beautiful fabric a bit and talked to the owls, then hung it up and hoped that I’d get a chance to try it out later.

Through the fickleness of fate, though, I had to wait until the next day. I forgot to grab it on our way out the door to run our few errands, so I had to make do with the Ergo that lives in the car–one on the back and one in the arms.

They fell asleep in the car on our way home, and regrettably didn’t sleep long enough and woke up cranky. (Well, one woke the other up… etc. etc.) So I grabbed the Ergo from the car and stuck daughter on the front in it and Mr. G on the back in Jasper.

The first thing I noticed is that the hip belt’s shape adjustability is HUGE. Mr. G was practically weightless back there. The way I was able to get it adjusted had it contoured to my hips, rather than just perched atop them. MUCHO comfortable, even with the Ergo hip belt on top of it. It’s also wonderfully wide and padded. Much easier to wear almost 40 combined pounds of baby when the weight is perched on the hips! Lastly, the dual adjustable buckles are nice, because I can have the clip over to the side more, which is where I find the clips on my SSCs easier to buckle.

The next thing I noticed was that Mr. G was unable to do his usual attempt at a back dive from the carrier like he does in the Ergo. Score 100 points for the tall back–this thing will last my shorty kiddo forever!

My last discovery as I wore two was how much I liked the chest strap. I was able to get it adjusted so that it lay flat against my unfortunately large chest, and (unlike on the Ergo and the Beco) I felt like I could get it nicely snug without putting uncomfortable pressure on places that could lead to plugged ducts. I couldn’t see the reasoning for the cloth sleeves over the webbing on the chest strap until I got it snugged up, then I realized how nice it is for distributing the pressure evenly.

I wore both kiddos for a bit over a half-hour, until Mr. G had woken up enough to want down so that he could play. So I put daughter on my front in Jasper and immediately (yes, immediately) noticed what might be my favorite thing about Jasper. I’m not a strap-crosser–my first SSC was my Ergo so there was no reason to learn. I borrowed a mai tei from a friend long enough to see why one might want to cross the straps, but even with the Oh Snap’s ability to cross the straps, I figured I’d just stick with the ability not to have to fiddle with clipping and unclipping things. But even with the straps uncrossed, Jasper doesn’t dig in under my arms/on the sides of my breasts in the same way that my other two SSCs do, something that is an issue with my Ergo and Beco to the point where I ended up with mastitis on one side. Because the straps are padded so far down, there’s padding under my arms, spreading out the pressure, which isn’t much anyway.

This morning I wore daughter again in Jasper and we ended up taking a nice long walk. She conked out–the highest compliment she could pay, perhaps.

So I’ll have to apologize to my husband, but there’s a new man in my life, and his name is Jasper.
