It’s been a lovely, busy and amazing 4 years working with PAXmommy Christina! She first asked me about being part of the PAXbaby team on a sunny afternoon while we were watching our baby boys climb clumsily on a local playground. I needed the help so I accepted her invitation gladly, and it’s been non stop fun since! A zillion birthday parties, pedicures, BBQs, new babies, and late night work sessions later, it’s time for us to say goodbye to PAXmommy Christina and let her her spread her wings! She is a doula, Bradley instructor and placenta encapsulator when she’s not being a full time mama to 4 little ones and has touched many with her beautiful presence!

In a few short weeks, PAXbaby.com will be celebrating our EIGHTH birthday party! Can you believe that our little rainbow shop will have been chug chugging along for eight years this Fall? From baby carriers to bento boxes to baby bottles and back again, it’s been quite the adventure with PAXbaby!

Our party is right smack dab between PAXretreats with Joanna from the Center for Babywearing Studies and will be very much like a mini retreat day! Food, beverages, entertainment, and awesome company will all be included with your ticket!  In honor of our creative and varied past, our prizes to be won at the party range from baby carrier accessories and stalk free passes to an AMAZING wrap converter to handmade dollies to wrap scrap quilts, diapers, clothing and jewelry! Happy Labor Day!

What does Labor Day mean to a PAXmommy??

Well, this year it means a little more as PAXmommy Mel is 9 months pregnant and actually prepping for LABOR, as well as working buuuut…

Being a PAXmommy often means: sleepless nights, checking emails from your phone while kids play, writing and editing posts during nap times, prepping dinner and checking in on the Facebook page for juuuuust a minute, having online meetings, being creative even when you just want to sleep, drinking coffee at 10pm, working through writer’s block, deadlines, endless emails, bringing your laptop everywhere & anywhere, eating dinner in front of the computer, juggling “it all”, problem solving…

But it ALSO means: being able to attend daytime preschool concerts, working in your jammies FROM bed, breastfeeding at work, working from everywhere & ANYWHERE – actually meeting amazing new friends in person and world-wide, helping people, spreading the babywearing love, playing with fluff, snuggling babies, learning new things, being creative, getting to design textile art, having an amazing support system of PAXmommies around you at all times, brainstorming and collaborating with so many amazing women, team work, working with your best friends, challenging yourself everyday, family values, planning playdates, staying home with your family, getting paid to do what you love.
