It’s not just for babies!! PAXbaby.com is a huge fan of big kid wearing, too! Here’s an assortment of the biggest of the big! These carriers have high weight limits and are a great option if you’re wearing your older toddler, preschooler, or even your school aged child!

**It’s important to pick a carrier that fits your child *now*, rather than choosing something to grow into, as a too large carrier can be a safety concern. To test fit, be sure your child’s shins hang at a right angle to their thighs, with no buckling or scrunching of the carrier fabric and that their head clears the top of the carrier. Once a child is able to walk, “knee to knee” is no longer a necessity. Always check the manufacturer’s sizing prior to using a carrier for your child.

Have you ever wondered how various soft structured carriers compare, and if your one year old (++) will still be supported knee to knee?
PAXfriend Tara sampled a few different carriers at her local babywearing meetup, and put together this little collage for us.

For reference, her daughter is 16months old, 23lbs and 36.7″ long (90th percentile in height).

**Tula pictured above is a Toddler sized Tula**

Now, this is only an EXAMPLE, not every baby or babywearer is going to fit a carrier in the exact same way. This pictorial is only to give you a basic idea.

http://shop.paxbaby.com/buckle-carriers/

Although the Toddler Tula is a little big, really for Tara, it seems to be the better option for her tall one year old, if she is hoping to have a carrier for her little one to grow into!

Which carry do you love best for your little (or not so little) one?
When did you find they began to grow out of their Standard/baby sized SSC?

We would love to hear your thoughts!

Comment below, or send us a quick note to help@PAXbaby.com.

The Soleil is here, and boy, does it have people talking!

Everyone wants to know the dirt, so we are working on a few extra-special upcoming Beco blog posts dishing the goods on this brand new carrier.

Here’s a great chart that compares and contrasts PAXbaby.com‘s Beco Baby Carriers!

The Soleil versus the Gemini is a tough choice.

It comes down to so much more than looks with this carrier, definitely weighing out the pros and cons is necessary. Wait, cons… what cons? haha

Things to consider:

How old is your baby?
How heavy is he/she?
Will this be your only carrier?
Will you be needing an infant insert?

If  you need some assistance deciding which buckle carrier will be perfect for your babywearing needs, feel free to email us!
