That is some commitment!

Brigitte – It sounds like you have tried most of the tricks. The only other ones I can think of are eating oatmeal and maybe trying a prescription med like Reglan or Domperidone? Good luck!

heads up to Jane. Two years is awesome… And since she has so much experience I was wondering if I could ask her a question…

I have been pumping my milk for my daughter ever since she was 3 weeks old. We just couldn’t figure out the correct technique for breastfeeding… she has been getting nothing but my breast milk until she was six months old and then started eating baby food as well. Now my little girl is about to turn 1 on thursday and I would like to keep feeding her my milk. But unfortunately I am not producing what she demands anymore. Besides the table food that she eats, she demands somewhere around 30 oz of milk but I only produce 20. Up till now we were fine because I had a huge supply of milk in the freezer but now there are only 2 bags left…. I have tried to increase my milk production by pumping every 2 hours around the clock (which is almost impossible with an active little girl like mine crawling all over the place during the day and practically no sleep at night), taking fenugreek (3 x 2 capsules per day), drinking nursing tea, massaging the breast before and during pumping and recently I even started squeezing out milk once the pump can’t get anymore… But it seems like I,m stuck at 20 to 21 oz… I really don’t know what else to do. Does your friend maybe know any other tricks that I could try? Everybody I asked so far told me just to quit pumping all together and feed her whole milk but I really do not want to do that. I also would love to avoid supplementing with formula or whole milk if possible. So any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Brigtte & baby Jocelyn
